SpiroConnect® is the most accurate and simple to use wireless PC-based spirometer available. It uses proven turbine technology but with a range of innovative enhancements.

By orientating the turbine vertically rather than horizontally, there is less rotational resistance which makes it more sensitive to low flow rates than other turbine spirometers. This, in addition to the use of an advanced antistatic plastic, significantly enhances measurement accuracy, particularly when testing COPD and Asthma patients. The latest Bluetooth technology means it can be used as a portable device connecting wirelessly to a PC, laptop or tablet. This Bluetooth functionality also makes it suitable for use in a primary care network (PCN) respiratory diagnostic service.

Designed by the inventor of the MicroLab, MicroLoop and SpiroUSB spirometers, SpiroConnect® is perfect for the busy GP surgery or spirometry hub. It is fully integrated with the EMIS, TPP SystmOne and Vision clinical systems through Numed’s Intelligent Integration Interface (I3) software* (first year's license included.) Up to 40 user selectable coded results and a PDF spirometry test report are filed in seconds at the end of the test. Additional codes related to Asthma and COPD monitoring, including SpO2, are also filed. SpiroConnect also integrates with the Civica Occupational Health system, please contact us for more information

SpiroConnect® is endorsed by Respiratory Matters, a recognised centre in spirometry training in primary care. It features the Global Lung Initiative (GLI) Predicted Values as recommended by the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP) and measures all of the key spirometry indices including VC, FEV1, FVC, FEV1/VC, FEV1/FVC, PEF, FET (see full list in Technical Specs section), all user configurable. It is fully compliant with the ATS/ERS 2019 spirometry guidelines. This makes it the perfect spirometer for the busy GP practice, spirometry hub or CCGs using a variety of clinical systems.

The manual attachment of diagnostic reports to a patient’s medical record is a time consuming process and, combined with the inputting of codes, can often mean you spend more time carrying out administration tasks than caring for your patients. Manual data entry can also compromise patient safety, through the attachment of test results to the incorrect patient medical record.

I3 integration provides a solution to these problems by acting as a link between your GP clinical system and a range of 12 lead ECG, ABPM and spirometry devices.

I3 will retrieve a patient’s details from the EMIS, TPP SystmOne or Vision clinical systems and automatically pass this information to the diagnostic device you want to use, ready to perform your test. Once all the tests have been completed, I3 will then file a PDF report of the test results and any associated coded results directly into the patient’s medical record automatically. This makes your diagnostic testing safer, faster and easier.

“The new SpiroConnect® Spirometer has been a great addition to our medical inventory.  It is easy to store, easy to use and saves a significant amount of time for both the nurse and the admin team.  The reports and Read codes are always entered instantly and correctly which has improved patient safety ensuring no lost or illegible reports. I would definitely recommend the product and the excellent support and customer service provided by Numed.”

Iain Date, Practice Manager - Cape Road Surgery, Warwick

"Not only is this a better way of testing in terms of patient safety, but also quicker and easier for the nursing team, saving up to 10 minutes administration time per test."

David James - Business Manager & Commissioning Project Lead

"We've used Numed for some years, and always found them extremely professional, responsive and friendly. They have an excellent range of equipment, and their impressive Envisage waiting room patient information system has now been adopted by numerous CCG's. Fantastic aftersales service as well. A great team you can rely on."

Nigel Atkin, Practice Manager - Barlborough Medical Practice

“We are finding the Numed system incredibly easy to use (for ECG, Ambulatory Blood Pressure and Spirometry). For the SpiroConnect, being able to see results on the computer screen and demonstrate to our patients in a graphic way is extremely helpful to them and to us!  Not having to enter data and Read codes manually is a great time saver and ensures greater accuracy.  The wire-free SpiroConnect handset is much less restrictive and more comfortable for patients to use.”

Helen Attrill, Practice Nurse - Eltham Medial Practice

“The Spirometer is incredibly easy to use and has made a huge difference in reducing hospital referrals and getting more accurate results so VERY VERY pleased!”

Jane Hughes, Practice Nurse - Burney Street Practice
